And So It Begins

Hello Universe! Universe? Are you listening? Well if you’re not I am going to talk at you anyways. Why (assuming you were going to ask that)? The reasons are many. One being that for my high school graduation the parental units gave to me a CD of every weekly letter they sent out to family and friends from the time of my birth up until that day. While I have not yet had the motivation to read any of these I hope to someday. Thus in that light I thought maybe my POSSIBLE future spawn may like a similar gift. Want a better reason, how about Mom and Dad like to know what I am doing with this life they so generously bequeathed upon me and this is a good way of convening said information. And if you’re still not satisfied, my last and unquestionable reason is, I felt like it.

It was functional verification testing week at work. I got all of my tests done as quickly as possible on Monday so I could go back to fun work. Then on Wednesday I took on some more tests to help out some others, such is life. While I wasn’t testing I was writing tests for a huge enhancement I had been working on for three weeks. As of Friday I marked the enhancement complete, finally.

At home I spent the majority of my week sitting in front of my pretty new 50” plasma TV watching Blu-ray movies which I have both purchased and Netflixed. HD is wonderful :-). My movie watching included Matrix 1-3, Transformers 1-2, and the new Star Trek movie. On Friday Amazon delivered Harry Potter 6 and I watched that as well. The two times I saw Harry Potter 6 in theaters I was not a big fan, but apparently the third time was the charm because I was laughing my ass off a majority of the time. Though I do still wish they had split it into 2 movies like they are doing for Harry Potter 7. Which by the way looks AMAZING based on the teaser trailer provided with Harry Potter 6.

The time not spent in front of the TV was spent with Stephanie trying to be as helpful as I can during her favorite time of year, the end of semester finals preparation. I have discovered nothing I say or do really helps her at all with this so I have fallen back to just being there for hugs when needed.

Saturday night I almost killed myself at the Barlock end of semester dinner at Macaroni’s. For those of you who have never been to Macaroni’s it is an Italian restaurant that has a “family style” menu option that works great when you are bringing 10+ people out to dinner. The way it works is each person is X number of dollars and then as a group you pick 2 salads, 2 appetizers, 2 pastas, 2 entries, and 2 deserters. As if this wasn’t enough food, each course is all you can eat. The courses are separated into salads and appetizers, pastas and entries, and desert. So as long as any given course is going on you can get unlimited refills of the family platters of food. On top of all of this, the food is DELICIOUS! For those of you who haven’t put 2 and 2 together to get 5, delicious food + unlimited food = bad. I probably ate at LEAST 3 meals in the 3 hours we were there. Needless to say when I got home I thought I was going to explode, luckily I didn’t.

The rest of my weekend that was not spent overindulging was spent updating the website to its current awesome state.

Dear Roommate,

Your new website looks spectacular. As you could hear while sitting on the couch with me while I read your blog, I thought it was hilarious. I enjoy living with you (and now your 50" plasma ).

Yay for first comments!

cool site design. I thought you would have chosen an orange color scheme though. I shall add your feed to my google reader. Speaking of which, where are your shared stories, man? You are falling behind. You should put that feed on this site. And your captcha is just the right amount of easy. Thank you.
